    Special Programs

    Winterim Intensives: offers students intensive focused, experiential learning opporturnities.  At three junctures during the school year, students depart from the conventional routine and immerse themselves in one, three-week, full-day intensive course.  Student's choose from an array of on-campus courses, language and experience-oriented travel, independent study or internships throughout the world. All courses satisfy an academic requirement and earn a credit of 0.5, which is included in the cumulative average.

    Global Leadership Program: prepares students to be global leaders.  Students earn designation as GLP Scholars by completing experiential course work, achieving language proficiency, completing community service and serving as student leaders.  GLP students engage the school and greater Toledo community by organizing a wide array of programming focused on a yearly topic of global importance.

    Hybrid Learning Consortium: is a collective of independent schools around the world that develop high quality online courses for upper school students.  Year-long and semester courses are offered each year and include advanced placement options.

    Marking System

    MVCDS utilizes the standard grading system: A=90-100; B=80-89; C=70-79; D=60-69; F=0-59. The 4.0 grading system is used for all academic courses and averages are weighted for AP courses.

    The minimum requirements for graduation are as follows:

    Social Studies/History - 3 credits
    World Language - 2 credits
    Fine Arts - 1.5 credits
    Health/Physical Education - 1.5 credits
