    Marking System

    The 4.0 grading system is used for all standard academic courses.  Honors and Advanced Placement courses use a 5.0 scale.  Students meet with their academic advisors every two weeks or as necessary.

    FUMA utilizes the standard grading system: A=90-100; B=80-89; C=70-79; D=60-69; F-0-59. 

    Programs of Study

    The One subject Plan: (upper school only) A unique and hightly successful program that immerses students completely in each subject.  Student take only one course at a time, focusing all of their attention on that one area for seven weeks before moving on to the next course.  As a result, students gain a firm grasp of difficult subjects and retain more of what they have learned.  This experience gives FUMA students a jump ahead and sets the stage for the demands of a university curriculum.

    The minimum graduation requirements for grades 9-12 are as follows:

    English - 4 units
    Social Studies - 3 units
      (Western Civilization, US History, & US Government) 
    Mathematics - 3 units
      (Geometry & Algebra II) 
    Science - 3 units
      (Biology, Chemistry)
    Foreign Language - 2 units
      (2 years of one language) 
    Health & Physical Education - 1 unit
    Religion Studies - 0.5 units
      (required in grade 11 or 12)
    Electives - 5 units 

    World Languages offered:  German, Spanish

    ACT Scores:  Average ACT score = 21
